Job Description:

Forward Slope Inc. currently has one (1) full-time opening for a Staff Accountant. This is a hybrid role located in San Diego, CA (Mission Valley area). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. This position plays a key role in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Support compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance with DCAA regulations and government contracting requirements.
  • Support audits (internal, external, tax, and compliance) by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and system efficiencies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Experience with DCAA regulations strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Experience in government contracting environments is required

Hourly Range:

  • $31.25 - $38.45 per hour*

Job Type:

  • Full-Time Hourly/Non-Exempt

Clearance Information: Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL).
