Forward Slope Inc., currently has an opening for a Jr. Financial Analyst to join our team. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

Job Description:

The candidate for this position will act as Vendor Pay Support for the Department of Defense. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Monitor invoice tracking reports from various financial systems

• Prepare invoice packages that are complete and fully support Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) requirements

• Post invoices, expenses, and any other transactions as requested by Government task lead

• Research and analyze invoice discrepancies to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions

• Prepare reconciliation packages that are complete and fully support FIAR requirements and to adjust disbursements when appropriate

• Assist with processing manual Government employee reimbursements

• Support Tri-Annual Review on outstanding invoices and provide accurate analysis and prepare TAR packages that are complete and fully support FIAR requirements

• Assist with processing manual journal Voucher entries, provide accurate analysis, update SPAWAR JV database tool, and prepare JV packages that fully support FIAR requirements

• Apply working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to Vendor Pay including DoD FMR and Prompt Payment Act.

• Effectively navigate applicable software systems, such as COBRA, EDA, WAWF, Microsoft applications and Navy ERP

• Apply working knowledge of various financial business processes including contracts, purchase orders, purchase requisitions, transportation charges, and other related business processes

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related area is preferred
• Navy ERP platform experience
• Proficient with software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced environment with multi-tasking skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Professional, friendly and customer service oriented

Other Requirements:

• Candidate must have an active Security Clearance at the Secret level
