Forward Slope currently has a full-time position for an Engineer/Scientist III to join our Global Security and Engineering Solutions Team. This position is located in Charleston, SC.

Job Description:

  • Conduct systems analysis activities to evaluate the performance, functionality, and interoperability of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive systems architectures that align with operational requirements and technological capabilities, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Provide technical support for systems and equipment related to C4ISR, including troubleshooting issues, performing diagnostics, and implementing solutions to maintain operational readiness.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and analysis of test and evaluation activities to validate the performance, reliability, and effectiveness of C4ISR systems under various operational conditions and scenarios.
  • Support logistics activities associated with C4ISR requirements, including procurement, inventory management, maintenance planning, and equipment deployment, to ensure timely and efficient support to end-users.
  • Utilize technical expertise in Global Command and Control System - Maritime/Joint (GCCS-M/J), Tactical Data Links, or Broad Spectrum Communications to contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of related systems and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, scientists, and project managers to develop and implement innovative solutions that address complex technical challenges and enhance C4ISR capabilities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to C4ISR systems and technologies, actively participating in professional development activities and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members, sharing knowledge and experience to foster their professional growth and development within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including technical reports, system specifications, and configuration management records, to ensure compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, working groups, and technical reviews to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and partners.
  • Adhere to established quality assurance processes and safety protocols, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices within the organization.

 

The duties and responsibilities outlined above are indicative and may evolve based on project requirements, organizational priorities, and individual capabilities. The Engineer/Scientist III is expected to demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence in supporting C4ISR initiatives and objectives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience in "C4ISR Systems", to include:
    •  Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements.
  • Three (3) years of technical experience in support of C4ISR, GCCS-(M/J), Tactical Data

Links, or Broad Spectrum Communications.

  • Overseas travel may be required. 

Desired Qualification:

  • Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete
  • Vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), other).

 

Other Requirements:

  • Currently hold an active U.S. security clearance or be able to obtain one.

 

*Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000
