Forward Slope Inc., currently has an opening for a Software/Systems Engineer to join our team. This position is located in San Diego, California.

Job Description:

Forward Slope is seeking an experienced software and systems engineer to provide technical and operational support for the V-22 Comprehensive Automated Maintenance Environment – Optimized (CAMEO). The CAMEO suite provides proactive performance metrics and assessments of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) fleet of V-22 Osprey aircraft. This position requires candidates to have experience in designing, developing, testing, integrating and deploying software systems related to Condition Based Maintenance (CBM). The software is undergoing a transition to Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP), which requires candidates to have a history with HDP and with refactoring legacy software. The CAMEO suite provides indicators of aircraft performance, maintenance requirements, and data on individual aircraft parts. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a distributed team environment, working independently, and being able to design, develop and test software threads that implement system features. This position requires that candidates be located in San Diego, California.

Required Qualification:

• Candidates must possess a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Three (3) or more years of experience developing in Java and Java enterprise tools (ie. Tomcat, Maven, PostgreSQL, Git)
• Two (2) or more years of experience developing big data microservices using Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP): Accumulo, Solr, HBase, Hive, Storm

• Must have a current and active Secret clearance
