Forward Slope, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Facility Security Officer (FSO) to manage security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). The AFSO will serve as an alternate point of contact for all industrial security concerns, and provide security expertise, guidance and advice to management and staff. Ideal candidate for this position will be required to be onsite in San Diego, as needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the FSO to support company-wide classified security programs
  • Collaborate on all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other security activities within the company’s facilities, including document control, visitor control, personnel security, and interpretation/preparation/maintenance of prime and subcontract DD Form 254 for classified contracting
  • Work all facets of the personnel security clearance process to include, initial request, fingerprints, indoctrination, reinvestigation, etc.
  • Provide initial security briefing to new employees, and debriefings to departing employees
  • Develop and administer a security education, training, and awareness program for both cleared and non-cleared personnel
  • Write and administer necessary standard operating procedures in accordance with the NISPOM
  • Collect incident/adverse reports and compose the Incident Reports for DISS and DCSA transmission.
  • Perform incident/adverse information reporting
  • Conduct periodic self-inspections as directed by the NISPOM
  • Prepare for and participate in the DCSA facility security assessment
  • Facilitate and participate in Insider Threat Management Team activities
  • Run and maintain local Access Control Systems Intrusion Detection Systems, and Closed-Circuit TV
  • Collaborate closely with the FSO and other physical and cyber security staff on raising security awareness and maintaining a security-focused corporate culture

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant security experience, including experience working with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM
  • In-depth knowledge of security related programs, i.e., DISS/NBIS, NISS, eQip, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of COMSEC program management
  • Strong working knowledge of the management of classified Information systems and DoD Open Storage Secure areas.
  • Experience with the use and analysis of security related government systems, i.e., DISS/NBIS, NISS, eQIP/eAPP, NCCS/Service Now, etc.
  • Proven ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with facilitating an Insider Threat Team in accordance with NISPOM guidance.
  • Experience managing Intrusion Detection and Access Control Systems in accordance with DoD, NISPOM and UL standards.
  • Strong understanding of identifying, delivering, and managing Security Education and Training in accordance with DoD, Specific Customer and NISPOM guidance and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products including SharePoint

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree with at least eight (8) years of experience in a relevant security role.
  • Certification as an Industrial Security Professional (ISP®)

*Salary Range: $36.06 - $40.86 per hour
