Forward Slope has an opening for Network Security Engineer to join our team. The candidate will support the integration of new, upgraded, and refurbished systems, subsystems, and capabilities into the Syun An network. This position will require travel of at least 25% to OCONUS locations in support for integration and testing activities. The position is located in San Diego, California.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Five (5) years of Network Security experience, including experience in the following areas:
  • Cisco Firepower or ASA firewall Experience (including IPS/IDS experience)
  • Cisco RADIUS or TACACS+ Experience
  • Well-known protocols such as OSPF, BGP, SVL, GetVPN, DMVPN
  • Cisco LAN Core and Distribution Switches, including Cisco Catalyst Switches
  • Access Control List on a Cisco Routers
  • Proven Communicator with Leadership Skills
  • Familiarity with Cyber Security Tools like Splunk, Vectra Networks, Cisco Stealthwatch
  • Desire to keep up to date with latest Network and Network Security technologies 
  • Desire to integrate and test new technologies
  • Packet Analyzer tools like Wireshark
  • Must be able to diagnose and resolve network hardware and software problems associated with the data center infrastructure
• Must be willing to travel out of the country for several weeks to austere locations (such as Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia) (at least 25%)
• Experience with documenting Network Designs
• Ability to create documents for use in training operations personnel and for use in providing installation guidance to operators

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with JUNOS and JUNOS Management Tools
• Deep understanding of Cisco 802.1x and MAB
• Familiarity with Virtualization platforms involving Network Function Virtualization and VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Familiarity with the end to end lifecycle of a project

Other Requirements:

• Must have a current and active Secret security clearance
• San Diego-based candidate preferred, otherwise candidate will be required to relocate to San Diego
