Forward Slope Inc., currently has an opening for an Engineer to join our team. The position is located in San Diego, California.

Job Description:

Forward Slope is looking to add a mid to senior-level Engineer to join our growing System Design and Integration team. This positoin focuses on coastal and border surveillance projects, assisting with the design, development, and integration of systems such as radar, AIS, and radio. The job responsibilities for this position include a mix of San Diego-based design, integration and systems engineering work, with the opportunity for intermittent travel to international locations to perform site surveys and system installations. The selected candidate will also produce technical drawings such as network architecture, equipment interconnect diagrams, and ICDs; build and set up equipment; conduct experiments; collect data; and calculate results; as well as develop test reports based on findings.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S Degree in Computer Science or Engineering field such as computer engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
• Must be willing to travel out of the country for several weeks to austere locations such as Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia
• Seven (7) years of similar work experience
• Must be able to climb towers and lift equipment up to 100 pounds
• Technical writing skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
• Ability to read and construct high and low level drawings such as interconnect, architecture, and topology

Desired Qualifications:

• IT development and integration (HW, SW and interface)
• Familiarity with multi-meter and oscilloscope
• Effective communication skills, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Visio, Project, and PowerPoint a plus
• Knowledge of VHF and HF radios
• Knowledge of AIS equipment (transponders & receivers)
• Knowledge of marine (X-band, S-band) and ground surveillance radars
• Knowledge of cameras (FLIR, & COHU)

Other Requirements:

• Must have a current and active Secret clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a clearance at the secret level or higher
