Forward Slope Inc., currently has an opening for a Software Engineer to join our team. The position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Job Description:

Duties for the Software Engineer position include, but are not limited to:

• Create the required software documents as needed
• Produce design specifications that utilize JavaServer Faces, Prime Faces, Spring, Spring Web Flow, Spring Security, MyBatis, and jUnit frameworks
• Work with the client to verify and validate features for final approval
• Conduct functional testing and black-box testing
• Ensure all software development is performed in accordance with the ASD STIG
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for development processes
• Provide user support and training as necessary

Required Qualification:

• BA or BS degree in CS, IT or Information Systems preferred
• MCTS, Security+, or Network+ Certifications (Must obtain "Security + " certification within 6 months of start date if candidate does not present a current certification upon hire)
• Three (3) years of Java/J2EE Developer experience
• Three (3) years of experience and in-depth understanding of the SDLC
• One (1) year of experience with Oracle PL/SQL Database and Oracle WebLogic Application Servers
• Experience with Java Application Servers or Open Source Application Servers
• Experienced in building multi-tiered applications
• Experience with HTML5, XML, Javascript, JQuery and CSS
• Experience with SQL, Apache Struts, Subversion, and Git
• Experience with IIS, Jboss, and Apache Tomcat
• Experience with MySQL and/or DB2
• Experience with Google Mapping Services, Google Maps and Google Earth
• Experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008, Microsoft SQL 2005, 2008, and Solaris Servers
• Experience with Eclipse development tools or other IDE
• Experience collaborating and working on diverse project teams from geographically separated locations

Desired Qualification/Skills:

• Experience with USN or other DoD IT projects
• Experience with Tera Data Storage
• Experience with Model View Controller framework JavaServer Faces
• Experience with design and developing 3-tier web applications
• Experience with development tools ANT & Maven
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated, detail oriented, and very organized
• Ability to work independently and to respond quickly to change
• Effectively communicate current activities
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and test existing software components

Other Requirements:

• Must have a current and active Secret clearance
